Meet Your Faculty Mentor: Dr. Chris Leeds
If you are a business student at Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ of California, particularly a student-athlete, you are going to meet Dr. Christopher Leeds and he is going to be one of your biggest supporters.
As the Professor of Management in the AACSB accredited Barowsky School of Business, Dr. Leeds doubles as Dominican’s Faculty Athletic Representative. That means he is not only going to be watching your games and matches, but he also is going to be watching out for your career. Dr. Leeds’ business connections and guidance helps students navigate their career paths – which often begin long before they graduate.
Just ask his former students:
- Jake Quast ‘19, who was named Dominican’s Outstanding Student at commencement in 2019. Jake, studied business finance and criminal justice at the University of Oxford in England as the recipient of a Dominican Scholar at Oxford scholarship. Before graduation he had a job lined up in Houston as an associate consultant with alliantgroup, the nation’s premier provider of specialty tax services. Today he is Senior Consultant at EPSA USA in Houston.
- Rachel Sadacca ’12. Rachel is now Senior Demand Programs Manager at Lattice after full-time positions as Senior Marketing Manager at Demand Generation and Marketing Manager for Small Business Revenue Channels at Facebook. She also mentored Sophia Stetson ’19, who evolved from a job with the LinkedIn Business Leadership Program in Chicago to a full-time position as Business Development Representative for Okta, Inc. to now Account Strategist at Google.
- Natalie Diaz ’19. Natalie took a business communications course with Dr. Leeds as a sophomore and quickly was inspired to study marketing. Dr. Leeds also encouraged her to interview for the internship at Dibble and Dibble and arranged for her to interview entrepreneur Leslie Blodgett, founder and CEO of BareMinerals, for a BSB lecture in 2017 hosted by the Francoise O. Lepage Center for Global Innovation. She is now working for the LEMO Foundation in Customer Experience and Marketing Manager.
