Celebrity Chef Lidia Bastianich Speaking In ILS Lecture Series Nov. 10

California Congressman Adam Schiff, New York Times best-selling author and naturalist Dr. Douglas Tallamy, and television celebrity chef Lidia Bastianich will appear either in person or online in the Fall 2021 Leadership Lecture Series presented by Ó£ÌÒÊÓƵ of California in partnership with Book Passage.

, Friday, October 15, at 7 p.m. Schiff, who is in his 11th term in the House of Representatives, represents California’s 28th Congressional District. The California Congressman is currently chair of the House Permanent Select Committee that oversees the nation’s intelligence agencies. Congressman Schiff appeared in person in Angelico Concert Hall in conversation with attorney, author, and advocate Christine Pelosi, daughter of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, to discuss his book Midnight In Washington: How We Almost Lost Our Democracy And Still Could. 

, Wednesday, October 27, at 7 p.m. Dr. Tallamy, an entomologist and professor at the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware, appeared in person in Angelico Concert Hall to discuss his book The Nature of Oaks: The Rich Ecology of Our Most Essential Nature Trees. 

, Wednesday, November 10, at 5:30 p.m. Bastianich, an Emmy award-winning public television host, best-selling cookbook author, restaurateur, and owner of a flourishing food and entertainment business, will appear virtually in a live-streamed event via Zoom. She will discuss her recipe book Lidia’s: A Pot, A Pan, And A Bowl. Tickets, which include a complimentary copy of the book, are $40. She will be joined in conversation by Noah Galuten, chef, author, and food writer for Man Bites World blog.
